Common diseases of hair

Nowadays hair diseases and hair related problems have become general and these problems are seen with any individual regardless of gender and age.The hair infections are basically caused due to fungus, bacteria, parasite or any virus. These infections emerge slowly to one part of head and slowly infect the entire head portion and infect the hair follicles.

Some of the hair diseases are Piedra which is caused by fungus, folliculitus is caused by bacteria, and pattern baldness is caused by dermodex folliclorum parasite. The infection of hair and scalp including all the region of hair are together called as dermatophytes.

Sulphur is the main element of these proteins and when couple of sulphur atoms combine then disulphide bond is made. The protein formed by disulphide bond bends if the two sulphur atoms are at distance. As well as the amount of humidity in the air is also responsible for the curling of your hairs in negligible amount.In permanent artificial curling of hairs the disulphide protein bonds are chemically forced to bend that finally makes the upcoming hair in curly format. There may be different types of known as well as unknown hair disease and related problems with single fungus, virus or parasite.

As piedra is a most common disease or infection which affects a large number of ethnic group but this very infection is basically restricted to a definite region of the world. There are two types of Piedra one is Black Piedra and another is White Piedra. In this type of hair infection the hair nodules get develop on the hair fibers. As there is no perfect description how this disease transfer but it is considered that as fungus is transmitted from one person to another so the disease also get transferred.

Bacterial infection Folliculitus can be deep as well as superficial both. The deep folliculitis heals too slowly and sometimes leads to scarring and results in permanently loss of hairs. Where as the superficial folliculitis only cause temporary hair loss.

The Demodex folliclorum parasite is the common infection of hair follicle that affects the hair scalp. It mostly infects the face and scalp hair follicles. The persons easily get affected by this parasite infection if they are pre affected by seborrhea oleosa or acne. This demodex feeds on the dead skin tissues and oil, therefore these parasites resides in hair follicles where they can feed easily and replicate themselves.

In case of pattern hair baldness lots of oils is produced due to DHT (dihydrotestosterone). Dead cells of the affected hair follicles and this oil combine together to make sebum and this sebum provide a rich nutrient source for the growing parasite. This Demodex infection cause excessive irritation mainly in the eyelashes.
